Our Assistant Principal, Davina Kennedy-Woods, is a 1985 alumnus of Hancock Central High School and has devoted 27 years to improving the implementation of educational standards in the Hancock County School District (HCSD). Mrs. Woods’s philosophy of education stems from progressivism in which she believes individuality, progress, and change are fundamental in one’s education. She states, “Curricula should be based on the needs, experiences, interests, and abilities of the students. In a progressivist school, teachers teach interesting lessons and provoke curiosity. Students are engaged in active learning and use newly learned information daily.” Having four children educated in the district has brought Mrs. Woods much pride and joy and being vested in the district is why she works hard to ensure all students have a quality education. Happy National Assistant Principals Week, Mrs. Woods!
